Community Service
The goals of the community service requirement are to provide support for community organizations, create awareness about the wide range of needs and organizations/agencies in our region, provide a service-learning opportunity for our students, and foster a greater sense of connection between our school and our community.
Students are required to participate in a minimum of 12.5 hours of community service a year as a requirement of graduation. A wide variety of community service opportunities will be made available throughout the year, or students may choose to serve at any non-profit organization they wish. The primary goals for students in the upper school are learning about the goals and needs of a particular organization (or organizations), understanding how their contribution can help make a difference, develop leadership skills, raise awareness about the greater community, and enhance the ideals of citizenship in a community.
